| Nice, easy hike. Spectacular view. Wish I had my dog along--she would have loved it! | ||

| dakotaconcrete | Close but no cigar! Date Climbed: May 4, 2009 | |
| Came to within a hundred feet of the summit via the standard eastern ridge. The wind was oppressive and limited visibility to approximately 20 or 30 feet. Very worth while though as it proved extremely gratifying have made it as far as we did! | ||

| Caught it on a not so busy day last summer, one of the better days on a 14er. | ||

| Me and Joe climbed Quandary coulior as a winter ascent. Weather was pretty good, snow was stable in most places. Approach took almost 5 hours--postholing to the waist almost every step. Had some mismangements in hydration--only 1/2 L of H20 car to car in 12 hours for me. Good to know my body functions well under stress and dehydration at altitude, though. No real complaints. Just another great alpine day. | ||

| Very windy. Got sick towards the top but made it and was greeted with a beautiful view. A long day though. Great winter climb! | ||

| McCannster | Misery Death Climb ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 6, 2008 | |
| The first half of the climb was fine, but after we got above treeline, conditions horrified, and I found myself almost dying from exhaustion, postholing my way up the East Ridge in whiteout visibility, howling winds, and blowing snow, not to mention the 10+ false summits. I barely made it just before I was going to tell myself to turn around! No views, stayed but two minutes on top, then booked it down. Fun day of suffering! | ||

| 395guy | Nice easy 14er ![]() Date Climbed: Aug 8, 2008 | |
| I was hoping to bring my 9yo son up this peak (for his 2nd 14er), but he overslept after we went to a double-header Rockies game in Denver the day before. I took it very easy on this hike and reached the summit with no problem. By far, the easiest 14er I've ever done. I ran the Georgetown to Idaho Springs Half Marathon the next day in 1:25. Glad I didn't overdo it on Quandary the day before. The mood was rather somber on the peak of Quandary... the body of a hiker had been found the day before on this mtn. He had fallen while climbing off the trail on a different route. | ||

| This was my 30th climb of Quandary. There was a fresh blanket of from the day before. It was a nice day so much of the snow on the lower mountain had melted into slush and mud for the trip down. | ||

| A lovely short jaunt up a relatively easy 14er. Still I felt the altitude and was stalked by several goats. | ||

| Marni and I played hooky from work and climbed this as our 3rd 14er together. Fun going up, sick of the steps on the way down. I think I'd only do the east ridge again in the snow. Still a fun and pretty climb overall. | ||

| Started with the "direct start". There were plenty of mountain goats to share the route with. I was actually shocked at the number of people on the summit when we arrived. It was like a line of ants on the standard route. | ||

| Seemed like hundreds of people on this popular mountain. Took around 2:45RT. Tried to hike this in 1992 but there was 4 feet of fresh show in mid August that stopped me. | ||
