North Gully
The north gully was cold and dark all day, but the summit was warm and beautiful. No sheep but lots of tracks and droppings. Beware of the teddy bear chollas on the way to the gully mouth. Ouch!

2 Attempts & No Summit !
I tried to summit this using a route starting from the west and circling around to the south side. Made it past the saddle but did not make the summit. Then I tried again today on the North Gully Route. I made it to the saddle and then tried to scale the rock wall but was thwarted by all the thorn bushes. I was so close to tbe summit yet not quite there.

North Gully
Fantastic hike and great scenery. The desert is very lush and dense here. I enjoyed the scramble and really like the final part up to the summit where you are surrounded by walls and spires. Outstanding views from the summit.

Ragged it is.
Fun, off the beaten path, cactus attacking, rock crumbling route. Climbed with Sarah Simon, my girl and Surgent. I'm only bleeding from 6 spots on this desert climb.

North Gully
Wow, I really enjoyed this beautiful mountain and this fantastic route! The day started beautiful, though it did cloud up quite a bit as the day went on. (Admittedly, however, this kept temperatures under control...) Sadly, Scott had to turn back due to a bum knee, but Tony, Krista and I continued on to enjoy the delightful scramble to a fantastic summit!

Ragged Top Loop
Hiked up the South Gully to the summit, down the North Gully and looped back to the truck. Great views- would be a wonderful hike when the Ironwood trees are blooming. Trip log at:

Wrong side ?
Nick Scouras and I hiked up the south side, up an
obvious big cleft. Might call it third class ?
Scenic top.

North Gully
Hiked up to geocache GCCCB8 via the north gully. Arrived without any route information, but quickly caught on that the gully was the only practical way. Final push to the top was a fun scramble.

North Gully
Hiked and bushwacked our way up the North Gully. Quite straightforward if you stay in the main gully and do not bear right. The summit block was rewarding with one class 3 move to gain it. With all the reports of Desert Bighorn sheep around, we were disappointed to not see a single one. Make sure you do an intentional offset when heading back to your car (compass bearing or GPS works too) because the desert scrub is so tall you cannot see it, the parking lot, or the road.
