Rainier seen from 150 miles
Rainier peaking over the horizon from NE of Tri-Cities. The foreground range is the saddle mountains and you can see the plume from the nuke plant in Richland.

So, what you'd be looking at is Disappointment
Cleaver and Emmons Glacier on Rainier.

I never realized! Must have been a clear day!!

(When I climbed Rainier in 1984, I do remember seeing Yakima from the summit!)

Yeah it was a rare clear skies day and Rainier sticks out like a sore thumb around here. The lookout attendant on Oregon Butte told me you can see it from there on a clear day, its about 200 miles away from that point.
