Raleigh Peak-Colorado

Raleigh Peak-Colorado
View in Large format.

Jan 14th, 2009-

I hiked about 4 miles to this spot on the north face of Raleigh Peak. The bushwhack to the summit area is unpleasant due to snow, massive boulders and cactus-like bushes inbetween those snowy, massive boulders... Also, the actual summit is not a good place to shoot the Cathedral Spires area due to a couple of big trees that block the view. I downclimbed the snowy, boulder strewn north face and found an isolated platform like boulder to set up the tripod.

Chair Rocks and cathedral Spires, left of center.

"Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan "press on" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."   --Calvin Coolidge
