Fun day out with the dogs.   Sucess!

Fun to get out with the dogs. Walked over to the comm. towers on the top of Twin MTN. Great day, despite the smoke.

Ramshorn  Sucess!

This is one of the best vantage points in the Bozeman area. Clear views of Big Sky, Devil's Backbone, and the Paradise Valley. Watch out for grizzlys!

Labor Day Labor  Sucess!

Climbed with my friend, Don on a Labor Day weekend trip. We were banned from an MWA hike because we had a dog. Other than that, the actual hike was great. We saw the MWA ascending as we came down the peak.

Hiked  Sucess!

Really beautiful hike full of wildflowers. Didn't have to cross any snow. Only takes 5 hours from Tom Minor CG up the SW ridge. Definitely worth doing.

Nice  Sucess!

Nice fun peak. My GPS said 8.4 mi roundtrip. Took 2 hr 50 min. Got caught in a little hail on the way down. Lots of other parties out there. Didn't see any wild life. Bagged the peak with my dog!

Grizzly on top  Sucess!

Coming down from the top, about 10am, a grizzly crossed below us about 200 yards away. All we could do was sit and watch. Great day.

Perfect day - standard route  Sucess!

Quick day hike while visiting Yellowstone. 2 other people were on the mountain. It was fun to chat with a local who knew all about the area. Great 360 degree views! The petrified wood was fun to learn about as well.

Typical route  Sucess!

Drove to Gallatin National Petrified Forest TH and started hiking by 9:30 in consistent rain. By the time we reached Buffalo Horn Pass, rain had begun turning to snow. Higher up the ridge, snow began to stick. Eventually mountain wasn't socked in and began drying up. Successful summit in 3hrs, back to car, awesome day of fishing on the Yellowstone commenced when back out in the valley. A solid MT day

South ridge  Sucess!

Fun hike! Lots of little pieces of petrified wood lying around the upper slopes. Hiked this one with my mom and she made it the whole way to the top! Pretty good for a flatlander who just turned 63! Thanks a lot for the awesome hike, mom! I am very proud of you! Best mother-son hike ever!!

West ridge

Fun hike...for the first 1/2 - my wife blew her meniscus in a freak accident 200 feet from the summit - Carried her down 1/2 way. Terrible way to summit a peak.
