I once summited Ramshorn, and what an adventure. Very steep and loose and sketchy, and always looking for Griz. There was a dead Golden Eagle on the lower fore-summit. One of those peaks I was only on the summit for a short time, then I had to climb down past the difficulties to really relax and relish the experience. There were old rotten rappel slings on a breccia mushroom. I was solo and ropeless, so I could only look think how nice a rap would have been.
"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."
--Oscar Wilde on Absinthe
