Kerr Creek trail  Sucess!

I have gone a couple of times from the end of the road that branches right from Cliff Creek Road. The trail traverses some great meadows that are purple and yellow at the right time of year. There is a small pond that I like to stop at once you get above timberline. The hike along the ridgetop is fun to get to the real summit. There is an old big steel box on top which I think is some kind of old aviation device. If anyone know more about what it is I would like to hear more. My father said it looked like some kind of radio vortex for flights but he only saw my photo. I once saw a huge bull and cow elk running along the summit ridge.

Via pass at south end of mountain  Sucess!

I too wandered up the old logging roads and from there up steep slopes to finally come out at timberline and the Ramshorn ridge. Decent rocky scramble to main summit. This range, like the Gros Ventre Range is usually overlooked in the clamor to reach the Winds or the Tetons. For those wanting more solitude, this is a good thing. Expect to not see many while in this area.
