That photo was a still taken from my digital video camera. Yes I had it on zoom, but the snake was less that 3 feet away. It was very calm.

Nice shot! Too close for comfort for me. :) Of course, I almost put my hand on a copperhead on Breakneck so I'm a bit anxious about snakes now.
