Finally get to the top of Heukuppe. Started from Griesleiten, via Hans von Haid Klettersteig and Bismarck Klettersteig ascended Heukuppe about 3 p.m.

Griesleiten - Koonigsschuswandsteig - Preinerwandgipfel - Preinerwand Klettersteig - Griesleiten. Very enjoyable ferrata, but the scree slope at the beginning was like pain in the ass...

First time visit. Started in very nice sunny weather, by the time we arrived to Kar-Ludwig-Haus (under reconstruction)it became overcast, but did not deteriorate further. Met two groups of chamois on the way up to Heukuppe. Nice experience, hope to return soon.

Beautiful hike to the summit of Rax Alpens' highest peak, Heukuppe (2007 m/6,950 ft). I reached its summit along with my good friends Martin and Martina (AUS).
It also was GT's first summit, my faithful yellow doggie and climbing partner.
2006.04.29. Preinerwand, on Preinerwandsteig, in winter conditions (fog,snowfall). Chains were mostly under snow but it was exciting!
2006.05.01. Preinerwand, on Haidsteig. Beautiful sunshining, sometimes the melting snow flowed onto our necks. It's unforgettable experience for me!
2006.09.02. Preinerwand, on Haidsteig. It was happy-climbing on this great via ferrata in summer conditions. It was fun.

This was my first via ferrata climb, enjoyed it very much, although clouds obscured the views during most of the day. Fortunately no storm came.
Also first encounter with Rax. The dinner in the Karl-Ludwig Haus was excellent. :)
I have visited three summits: Predigtstuhl (1902 m), Heukuppe (2007 m), Scheibwaldhöhe (1943 m) when wandered through the whole massif.
Used Rudolfsteig for descent.
