Red Kite - Rhayader / Rhaeadr Gwy

Red Kite - Rhayader / Rhaeadr Gwy

These are one of the most beautiful birds of prey whos population is now growing in the areas of Wales. I was travelling from work in Aberystwyth through to Abergavenny and decided to take the mountain roads from Devils Bridge through to the picturesque town of Rhayader / Rhaeadr Gwy. Whilst in the area I went to the TV-Relay tower just north of town. Whilst taking pictures of the radio tower this red kite was flying up and round the structure and I took this lovely photo of the bird in action. They are certainly a fine bird and whilst I was in the area I saw many of them flying up and round the fields. I even saw them flying around the towns and houses. GREAT...!

Re: Brilliant!

Thank you for the comment.
They are even popular in the built up areas of the Thames Valley, especially round the town of Henley on Thames.
Thank you again.
David.
