Red Poppy (Papaver rhoeas)
This flower is also called the Corn Poppy, Field Poppy or Flanders Poppy. It is a common wildflower growing among the fields of various grains, which are cultivated in the Low Beskid's valleys.

or are they always red. We also
have the "lower elevation" poppies
growing in the Southwest deserts.

Yes, poppies come in many colors. Alpine poppies are white. They are rare and can be found in Poland only in the Tatras. Greetings, Henryk.
