| Redwic | Via Medicine Creek Direct ![]() Date Climbed: Dec 1, 2012 | |
| Our group started from Mineral Spring Campground and headed westward, basically parallel to Medicine Creek, until reaching the upper sections of Blue Creek Road. Apparently, there had been a lot of snow until this past week, when warmer and wetter conditions took over. Fortunately for us, this day was full of surprisingly blue skies and great company. | ||

| ericwillhite | Camped just below the summit. ![]() | |
| Sometime in 1993 I camped on the ridge a few minutes below the lookout. Years before, I dug for agates here...didn't find much but if you hike the trail through the beds, you'll think the place has been bombed as there are hundreds of holes, large and small scattered everywhere. Quite a sight. | ||

| lneher | Nice views and treasure ![]() Date Climbed: Sep 26, 2009 | |
| While researching this peak, I discovered that people have found agates on the ridge north of the mountain. As you approach the mountain, you see a sign to go left to the summit, or right to traverse along the east side to the "agate beds." When you're treasure hunting, it's never a good thing when there's signage to the treasure, e.g. "buried gold treasure this way." I recommend going up to the lookout first, and then continuing north along the ridge, following a neat trail that has been blasted out of the rock in sections. As you continue along the ridge, you will see digging sites on both sides of the trail. We found a few small geodes, and pieces of larger ones. As expected, making small rocks out of larger ones using a pick-axe is hard work, and eye protection is a must. (ear protection is a good idea too, although the ringing is gone today) | ||
