North Face & East Couloir  Sucess!

My first Glacier peak, and I met Dan who asked me if I was comfortable with Class IV prior to heading up the gully. We made it but was that quite the rush going up the east couloir.

Very windy summit!  Sucess!

Not sure which route we used, went up to the saddle, around the back side to the wide gully and around to the talus slope on the other side. Climbed with Smiley, Mark, Beth and Marlene. Easy climb but lots of loose scree.

South Slope  Sucess!

I've climbed Reynolds 4 times to the top, and twice not quite. I have done the north face goat trail traverse, and it's spectacular and scary. Classic mountain.

South Slopes Route  Sucess!

I got a bit off-route due to thick clouds and fog (ended up ascending the southeast slope), but went back down the southwest slope the right way. Although short, the scrambling at the top was awesome (quite exposed, but still class 3), and the views around Logan Pass were top-notch. See "Northern Rockies Trip" trip report for details.

keyhole route  Sucess!

A couple times in 2001
A very fun climb. Highly recommend this route over the southwest talus route. Much less slog and more fun scrambling.

Beautiful  Sucess!

I did this climb on a calm and perfect day with my wife and her best friend; I was hoping for a little more climbing and exposure, but it is a great summit!

SW slope.  Sucess!

I wouldn't have suspected that a route this easy exists judging by Mt Reynold's formidable appearance. Thank you Edwards.

Reynolds  Sucess!

Did the grand tour route with three others. The goat trail across the north face was a lot of fun. My friends got a little upset when I made them stop for a photo, saying "It's not too bad if we just keep moving.". I have done Reynolds before many times but this was the first time across the goat trail.

SW Slope  Sucess!

A beautiful but almost trivial route up an awesome peak with a very fun group of folks. Bagged Dragon's Trail afterward.

Diagonal/SW face mix  Sucess!

Took a look at the diagonal...still a few patches of snow that made us think twice about continuing. Instead, went right at the Y and traversed above the standard route (way less scree). Beautiful bluebird day...

Reynolds  Sucess!

Great views. MPrice; I also ran Reynolds a few years back with a Flathead Cross Country star and our time was 61 minutes! Maybe this summer it will go at under an hour.

61 minutes from visitor center to top  Sucess!

Was training for a cross country race and wanted to see how fast I could get to the top. I was in good shape back then and was able to run most of the way, even along the north face diagonal ledge. Only had to climb the east face above that and made it in 61 minutes from the visitor center.

Best Scenery  Sucess!

Climbed the SW Slopes and loved the spectacular scenery and warm weather the whole way. Best view I've had in the Lower 48.

SW Talus Route  Sucess!

Great scrambling, too bad smoke from nearby fires obscured much of the view

Route Climbed: North Face and East Couloir Route  Sucess!

This climb was made in honor of my cousin, Randy Turnacliff. Taken from us too soon. You are missed my friend.

We all enjoyed the North face and the incredible drop off. An awesome climb.

8-11-2010

Climbed via the southwest ridge route. There is a little decent exposure there but not too bad. Descended via the standard SW Talus Slope Route... a quick scree run down to the saddle.
