Spooky!I don't know why someone hates your shots. I think they are, if not excellent artwork, at least excellent illustrations of what winter can be like in sunny California. :-)

Re: Spooky!Precisely, Tom. While preparing for this trip, I tried to get an idea of what I might expect from Boundary in November. In searching SP, the only winteresque pictures I found were from ScottyS and Bearbnz on a trip they did in December. The December pictures showed very little snow. I posted these November pictures to show others that conditions can be considerably more severe even this early in the fall and winter seasons. Some people just don't understand, I guess, that not all pictures are intended to impress; some are intended to illustrate and educate.

Re: Spooky!Courtney, I climbed Mt. Hood in conditions where I couldn't see twenty feet ahead and Mt. Rose near Reno in similar conditions. However, I hit Boundary on a perfect day just a few days after doing Mt. Rose. Consider the contrast that my November 24th pic demonstrates and you realize that peak days are sometimes crapshoots.
Oh yeah, the day after we climbed Mt. Rose, the weather cleared and was perfect, just a mere 24 hours later. Your pics of your climb demonstrate that really well, the crapshoot part. It reminds me that I still have to go back and do Mt. Rose and Mt. Hood on days when I can see what the view was like. You guys did a great job to summit Boundary Peak in conditions like you experienced. That'd make a great trip report.

Re: Spooky!Your experience on Hood was similar to mine. Visibility and snow conditions were so poor on Hood, though, that we didn't even come close to summiting. Likewise on Boundary. For all of our good effort, we turned back at Trail Canyon Saddle.
