Hawksbill and Stony Man in the distance?

Definitely not Hawksbill (I added a different shot of it to the main page, which I took over recently), but maybe Stony Man, though probably a little too far from Hawksbill (but I admit I don't really know Stony Man's profile from this perspective). I should have pulled out my map to do an ID, but it was too cold to be playing with maps out there!

Yeah, great job on the Old Rag update. Hope you will still keep my route page. Old Rag is probably the most fun mountain I ever hiked/climbed in the Southeastern U.S. An absolute joy. I regret only climbing it once.

Oh, I'm keeping it. I'm glad it's there. I might add a few shots from the woods if you don't mind, some snowy scenes from the other day that show some trail conditions and sights.

Yeah, it is a great mountain. I stayed away for a long time because of the crowds; last Monday's climb there was my first on it in over ten years. I found myself wondering why it had taken me so long to get back!

Yeah, but I still have you beat out West. I finally have spectacular mountains in my backyard, and because some are so close, I can even hike at sunset, and get back before dark. Old Rag is still special, no matter where you live.

I have to admit I was a little jealous when I saw you'd moved to NV-- you escaped this region! I dream of moving to the West, but the places I like are too cold for my wife, and the places she likes are nice but don't really have the kind of mountains that inspire me (I love the Rockies above all others). But I love Nevada for how open and sparsely populated it is, and I would be happy living there and exploring its high, untrammeled mountains in the Great Basin. I've spent some time already in Great Basin NP, the Ruby Mts., and the Toiyabe Range, and I highly recommend any of those to you if you haven't hit them yet. The Jarbridge peaks are also supposed to be very nice.

Right now, I just have to wait for my three weeks in Montana this summer.
