River Otters

Rivers otter at Trout Lake in Northeast Yellowstone. A couple of otter families inhabit this small lake feeding on the abundant cutthroat trout. This very short hike can be crowded. If you want to be by yourself, either go very early or during inclement weather (we did a hybrid approach - went early and when it was threatening rain).

Thanks. They were very entertaining. We were able to sit and watch them for a good 30 minutes -- by ourselves. The otters have a ever ending all you can eat buffet with all the trout in that lake!!
