Great hike to Baden Powell first and then the long descent to Ross. Loved the on and off use trail to and from Baden Powell from Ross. Maybe next time I'll choose a little cooler day.

Dry snow all the way up to Baden-Powell; tried to use snowshoes but they sank all the way to the bottom just like boots. Not much snow on the south side all the way down to Ross. I really enjoyed the views off both sides of the ridge from Baden-Powell to Ross.

Cloudy, thunderstormy, but cool day up Baden-Powell and down to Ross. Met up with a Sierra Club outing at the top of Baden-Powell. Tagged Burnham and Throop on the way out.

Started at Vincent Gap. Snow climbed Baden-Powell straight up from the second switch back. Then descended the south ridgeline staying on snow as much possible. Windy and chilly on Baden-Powell, windy and warm on Ross.

Completed the remaining eastern San Gabriels starting with Circle Mtn, then Pinyon Ridge, and finishing with Ross Mtn. Don't forget the double snow ascent of Baden Powell -- the second one hurt. Finished by assisting in a helicopter wince rescue of a climber who had slipped down the slope into a tree.

One of the tougher peaks in the area to get to. Nice early morning weather. Trip Report

Did this one with Wingding the second time, took about 6.5 hours. Much easier and cooler the second time around. First time via Burnham ridge and second time from Vincent Gap. When the 2 is open, Burnham ridge is the shortest route.

Climbed up from Vincent Gap, tough climb. Here is a Google Earth kmz file that shows the route with photos along the way.

Did Ross from Dawson Saddle (Route 2 on the mountain page). We tagged the non-descript Mt. Burnham on the way to Baden-Powell. Then down to Ross and then the humility of the re-ascent to Baden-Powell.
