Route to Len Shoemaker Basin

From the West Maroon Creek Trail, several hundred yards after crossing West Maroon Creek, there is a clearing and a prominent cairn. Begin following a faint trail up towards the clearing and an obvious boulderfield. The first gulley is not easily visible from the cairn. The key to success for reaching Len Shoemaker Basin is to find the breaks in the cliff bands that will lead you higher into the basin. The weather on the day of this climb into Len Shoemaker Basin was horrible. The rain never let up so it was impossible to keep my camera lens dry, resulting in less than high quality photos.
