From Scharnitz or Hinterriß on marked pathes to Karwendelhaus (3-5 hours)
Route Description
From Karwendelhaus go into Schlauchkar, traverse it to the west, climb the north ridge of the Ödkarspitze.
The three Ödkarspitzen (three peaks almost as high as the Birkkarspitze) are traversed before one gets to the pass west of the Birkkarspitze
(Schlauchkarsattel). Easy scramble (rock, scree, some cables) to the top.
The path is mostly marked with red paint. Where the path is exposed, cables are found. The scramble is easy.
The path traverses the three summits of the Ödkarspitzen and provides interesting views in all directions.
Essential Gear
hiking boots. for experienced mountaineers, no harness is needed. cables just to hold on.
