Route Description

First 2.8 miles is a pretty even climb, not too hard, through forests. Once you get around the ridge onto the north side it is not so full of underbrush. At the 2.8 mile mark you meet up with the Rooster Rock Trail. The next half mile gets steeper with some switchbacks until you come to Rooster Rock itself. After about 500 more yards the trail forks. The one straight ahead is a climber's trail to the Rabbit Ears. Take the one to the right which leads to a small rock area at the summit. Descend the same route.

Essential Gear

None needed.
