Route Description


Champex - le Bonhomme - Pointe des Chevrettes - le Catogne – Sembrancher:


  • Good path from Champex to the Belvédère.

  • From there over a broad crest, rated F with passages of I and a bit of path to le Bonhomme.

  • Between the Bonhomme and le Catogne, again an F ridge, this time with passages of II. Moderately exposed, solid rock, escape possibilities at several points.

  • The way down from le Catogne to Sembrancher is at first off-trail, following the north ridge, and then joins up a broad path.


Most of the route is clearly marked (white and red marks).
In total almost 13 km for an altitude difference of +1285 m and -2015 m.

Walking time 7-9 h depending on conditions.
