East Ridge of Bear Creek Spire is the step like, long, left hand skyline when viewed from the Trail couple miles from Mosquito Flats. From camp at Dade Lake, hike toward Spire Col and the base of the East Ridge.

Route Description

Climb up on the ridge and follow the crest for 22 pitches. Try to stay on the crest as much as possible (couple rappels). The route ends on the summit boulder. Time for average party: 7-11 hours from the base to the summit.
This is one of the classics of Eastern High Sierra. Recommended.

Essential Gear

One 50m rope, set of SLCDs (Friends), Set of wires, slings.
