Approach

Take the same approach as 'Stair Trek'. Locate the large tree on the ledge and move 40 feet left of the tree (near a small cedar tree). A line of bolts heads up and slightly right.

Route Description

Put up by Todd Swain in 1988, 'Flight Of Stares' is one of the few sport routes on Moro Rock. Start in front of a small cedar tree. Friction/smear on steep dishy holds (bad fall potential) to a small horn/flake (1st bolt, 18 feet). Head straight up, passing two more bolts before heading slightly right to the last bolt. Each of the bolts protect the cruxes well. At 75', look left and up to locate a two-bolt anchor with chains. Enjoyable and highly recommended climb.

Essential Gear

Quickdraws and a long sling (10').
