Approach

You start the tour at Rif. A. Dibona (2083 m) which can be reached by a narrow road from the main road Cortina - Falzarego Pass.

Route Description

From A. Dibona hut you take a marked path No. 403 which ascends in many zig-zags the Forcella (notch) Fontananegra (2580 m). There lies the Rif. Giussani (hut). Till here 1h 30 min.

From the forcella you proceed westwards, ascending only moderatly over the broad north slope of Tofana di Rozes. In the middle of the slope you reach the crossroads, where the right path would bring you to Tre Dita (the edge of the west face), and the left path, which you must take, bring you more steeply to a small saddle on the north-west ridge (P. 3027 m). There you turn left and proceed by the north-west ridge to the summit.

Essential Gear

Good shoes. In early summer there can be many rests of snow on north slopes and on the north-west ridge, so consider taking with you also a snow pick. The route over the north slope can be tricky in bad weather conditions, especially if fog disables orientation (compass, GPS). Also poles can be very useful.

Miscellaneous Info

If you have information about this route that doesn't pertain to any of the other sections, please add it here.
