Approach

The trailhead for the Tejas Trail is located at Pine Springs. See the Getting There section on the main page for directions.

Route Description

The trail climbs steeply for 3.5 miles to the intersection of the Bush Mountain and Bowl trails. Continue on down the Bush Mountain Trail for another 3 miles to the summit along some up and down terrain. Total elevation gain to the summit is 2897 ft. The total elevation gain, however, is more than 3,000 ft. if you add the ups and downs along the Bush Mountain Trail.

Essential Gear

Be prepared for high winds. Bring a gallon of water per day per person during the hot summer months. Snow can be encountered in the winter, however the temperatures are usually mild. Bring a warm jacket and a wind breaker during cold and windy days.
