ApproachFrom Domodossola (Italy - near the Simplon pass) to Varzo and then by car to Alpe Solcio (1750 meters - ref. Crosta Pietra Domus Nostra, be carefull, the route is not so good and probably you have to leave the car before to arrive).
Route DescriptionFrom Alpe Solcio by foot trough a path in a valley and then when you are on a pass turn right to east on the mountain until bivouac Leoni (2803 meters, 3 hours from Alpe Solcio).
The bivouac is situated near Monte Cistella peak. For the crossing to Pizzo Diei you have to turn left (to west) when you look the bivouac. In about 30 minutes, through an easy path (but be carefull to the signal!) you reach the peak of Pizzo Diei.
Essential GearNo Alpine-climbing equipment. Just for hiking. Some wear for the snow (present near the peak in autunm)
