Approach

See Goat Track Gully page for the approach to the Coire. From the boulder field the steep Fiacaill Buttress lies to the West, seperated from Fluted Buttress by the wide snow slopes of the Goat Track. 2 lines of ramps score the main face of the buttress from bottom right to centre left. Invernookie is based around the lower ramp line.

Head towards the base of the ramps and belay by the base of a hidden gully which cuts the buttress from bottom right to top left (the Fiacaill Couloir).

Route Description

Pitch 1: From the base of the couloir climb up and right under a steep wall before heading back left up steeper ground to a belay at the base of the ramps
Pitch 2: Climb the ramp passing a tricky steepening in the middle to a good peg belay
Pitch 3: Up the corner on the right and the chimney/crack line above to the ridge (crux pitch)

Essential Gear

2 ice tools, crampons, helmet, 2 ropes, full rock gear and a few pegs, no need for cams, a couple of warthogs might be useful for the frozen turf.
