Approach


See Goat track Gully. The climb is located on fluted buttress, the buttress which contains several prominent vertical ribs seperated by snow gullies. 3 gullies fan out from a similar start point on the left of Fluted Buttress. Central Gully is the left hand of these, the central line is taken by the Runnel (Grade II) and the right hand by Crotchet Gully (Grade I/II).

Head up steep snow to the base of the gully

Route Description


Climb the gully in 4 pitches of steep snow (45-50 degrees). Rock belays are possible.

Essential Gear


1 or 2 ice tools, crampons, a helmet, a rope, a range of nuts, hexes and slings.
