Approach

The Mel Cracks are located on a rock formation called "Mel's Diner," located in the Lost Horse region. From Quail Springs road, head west past "Roadside Rock, " about 250 yards until you reach the east-facing "Mel's Diner" slab formation.

Route Description

Right Mel Crack is a fantastic thin finger crack -- especially for someone with small hands. It's fairly steep for a slab crack. On the Mel Cracks face there are two cracks -- a left and a right. Per KSolem, the "Right" Mel Crack is actually on the left and the "Left" Mel Crack is actually on the right. The route described here is the "Right" Mel Crack (on the left). Simply follow the obvious left crack for this route.

Essential Gear

As this is a thin finger crack, bring pro that is for 1 inch or less. The route is less that 1 pitch.

Miscellaneous Info

If you have information about this route that doesn't pertain to any of the other sections, please add it here.
