Approach

This route starts from the old site of Leavick, although it is quite possible to drive higher on the Fourmile Creek road.

Route Description

From Leavick, head west for .8 miles and look south (left) for a side road that crosses the creek. From here the route gets a bit messy. Old mining roads and trails abound on the lower section of the mountain and no path seems much better than the others. Stick to the more southern paths for better views of the mountain and head upwards towards the saddle on the mountain's north side. From the saddle the summit is an easy hike of .75 miles with 700 feet of elevation gain.

Essential Gear

During summer conditions no specialized gear is needed. The standard "Ten Essentials" should suffice.

Winter conditions may call for skis or snowshoes along with appropriate avalanche gear.
