Approach

Start from the southern entrance to the Charons Garden Wilderness.

Route Description

Start from the parking lot and walk north. Begin traversing a litle west and down towards the creek that feeds Post Oak Lake. Bushwack along this creek. I chose the left side. The creek will split, take the left hand split which will begin to take you up and in between Granite Mountain and Twin Rocks Peak. Stay in the canyon on either side of the creek until you reach the saddle between the two peaks. There will be some significant bouldering and bushwacking in this canyon. Granite will be on the left. Scramble and boulder up some 3+ class terrain to the summit.

Essential Gear

Boots and long pants are recommended because of the very rough terrain. Do not attempt this peak in wet conditions. Chiggers are a problem in the Spring. Protect yourself from these nasty critters.
