Approach

Start at the southern entrance to the Charons Garden Wilderness. See the "Getting There" section on the Main page.

Route Description

Follow the main trail north for about 1/4 of a mile past the headwaters to Treasure Lake. Cross the creek feeding the lake and begin bushwacking west southwest up the easier gradient. See the topo attached. Cross a small creek (probably dry) and continue up to a steep section just to the south of the summit.

Continue west up this very steep and rugged section until you are southeast of the summit. Begin working your way around to the north around some huge boulders. Continue circling around to the north and pass by on the north just below the summit rock. The access is on the west side which will require a 4th class move to make the actual summit.

Essential Gear

This is a very demanding bushwack with some 4th class scrambling required. Wear sturdy boots and some long pants. Do not attempt this route if wet. Protect yourself fom chiggers if you attempt this in the Spring. Winter is the recommended time to attempt this route.
