Approach


This route can be started from the Hildesheimerhut wich can be reached from Solden in oetztal. From this hut follow the marked path to the pfaffenglacier. Cross this glacier to the e/w to the start of the pfaffensneide.

Route Description


The route over the Pfaffenschneide is a rockclimb starting with some blockclimbing(2). Higher on this rigde it became 3-3+ rock. On some higher parts there is sometimes a small snowrigdes. On the last part onder the summit it is steeper but very good to climb.

Back from the summit you can follow the normal route to the Dresdnerhutte or back over the pfaffenjoch to the hildesheimerhutte.

Essential Gear


You need gear for crossing the glaciers, rope, harnesses, iceaxe and crampons. For the higher parts on the Pfaffenschneidde you need gear for rockclimbing as nuts, sets, slinges.
