Route Description
Park the car in Morge (a big wooden spring is the headtrail). Descende to Piginier on unpaved road. Once reached a footpath, be careful to path signs for Liconi (trail n. S20-S21). After a soft introduction, with a long traverse, the path becomes steep, leaving the wood, before entering in the valley ended by Battaglione Aosta pass.
When first steps are moved into Battaglione Aosta valley, follow the stone ford to cross the river. Here begins the last traverse to get into Liconi Valley (about 1.850 m. - 45 min.). From here, follow trail marked S21 or 3.
This last travers arrive at an unpaved road, coming from Villair village - La Salle, and ends in Liconi village (1.778 m. - 1h15min.). Again on a trail, little by little steeper, until the natural ground dam of Liconi lake is reached (2.555 m. - 2h45min). Take a deep breath and enjoy the hidden plateau with the beautiful lake of Liconi.
The S3 (or 3) trail continues on right side of the lake and easily allows to arrive at Liconi pass (2.674 m. - 3h15 m.)
From Liconi Pass, after a brief grass slope, the trail moves on in stonyground fields. When arrived on a large ridge, follow right direction (WNW) for Testa di Liconi Summit (2.929 m. - 4h00min).
A very confortable trail has been newly traced, from Liconi village to Liconi Lake, to the summit (summer 2006).
