Approach
From Onion Valley Road End take the trail north to Golden Trout Lake(not the Kearsarge Pass Trail). The trail forks where the drainage from Golden Trout Lake meets the main drainage from the unnamed lakes to the north. Near the end the trail becomes little more than a use trail.
Route Description
From Golden Trout Lake, Gould looms large to the West. Traverse to the West end of the lake and ascend the talus/scree main chute left of the peak to the south ridge. drop over to the west side and ascend to the top. There is a little class 3 bouldering at the top.
