Approach

Starting point: Boval Hütte (2495m)

Route Description

From the Bovalhütte it's an easy start through Gianda Boval. An easy walk up, just follow the mountain-men. You pass a small ridge at approx. 2800m and cross the small Boval Dadains glacier (snow almost totally gone in the summer).

At 3000m you have to start scrambling your way up to Fuorcla da Boval (3347m). Just follow the red dots and marks. On top of the Fuorcla da Boval you descent a few meters and follow the uppersection of the Vandrettin da Tschierva.

From there on you have to climb a rather steep icefield 35° for about 50m in height to the ridge (3420m) on which on can follow the path towards the summit.

Beware of some snow-covered seracs between 3500 and 3700m!

Essential Gear

Rope (depending on your climbing skills and mountaineering experience), ice axe, crampons, map Piz Bernina 1277 (Bundesamt für Landestopographie) and your camera of course!!!
