Approach
The best trailheads to take to get to the mountain are located at either Twin Lakes, or Leavitt Meadows, as described in the main peak page.
Route Description
The lower portion of the northwest slope of Center Mountain is a mixture of short sections of Class 3 rock and sandy ledges. It's a very enjoyable climb. About half way up the mountain, the terrain turns to a sandy slope with patches of White Bark Pine with some occassional granite protuding from the sand. I zig zagged my way up the slope, sticking to the rock where ever possible. There is some very nice vertical rock on the northern side of the mountain that will come into view as you near the summit. The actual summit block requires a very short and not exposed Class 4 climb to gain the summit.
Essential Gear
No special equipment is needed during the summer.
