Approach
Start from the southern entrance to the Charons Garden Wilderness. See the "Getting There" section on the Main page for directions to the southern entrance trailhead.
Route Description

The main trail into the Charon's Garden Wilderness starts on the east (right) side of the parking lot. A less distinct trail starts on the west (left) side of the parking lot. Take this less distinct trail and start hiking north by northwest. The trail can be followed for a while and then becomes faint in places as it works its way across the creek that feeds Post Oak Lake.
Cross the creek through some grassy areas and begin working your way up northwest below Granite Mountain. There are a few cairns here and there leading you below Granite towards Twin Rocks Canyon. Continue contouring below Granite and around parallel to Twin Rocks Canyon (see topo above). Work your way down into Twin Rocks Canyon just down from the saddle between Granite and Twin Rocks.
Scramble up this 4th class face. Routefinding will be necessary to keep this 4th class.
Essential Gear
Boots and long pants are recommended because of the very rough terrain. Do not attempt this peak in wet conditions. Chiggers are a problem in the Spring. Protect yourself from these nasty critters.
