Approach

You approach the Rif. Brazza (1660 m) by a mountain road from Sella di Nevea. The parking place is just below the hut.

(See the main page of Montaz).

Route Description

This route doesn`t lead on the top of Montaz but it is located over the SE face of Montaz between the start of Pipan's ladder and Cimma di Terra Rossa, 2420m. I will desscribe it if you climb it from Rif. Brazza, 1660m and then you ascend over some of the routes on the top of Montaz (see the main page) and then you descend from the top of Montaz over the Pipan's ladder and you come on the start of Sent. attrezz. Leva (pot Leva).

From the start you follow the signposts for Sent. attrezz. Leva (pot Leva) and first you climb and scramble over the nice grassy and rocky shelves, which become more and more airy!! You climb over many columns and then before you come on the notch Forca del Palone you, 2242m you must descend over steep rocky face. Then you continue the route over the another short face to the Cimma di Terra Rossa, 2420m (you can also reach the summit.). Then you descend over the normal route on Cimma di Terra Rossa back to Rif. Brazza.

Essential Gear

Good hiking shoes, helmet, rope.
