Approach

Follow the Cottonwood Road to where it ends near the springs.

Route Description

From the end of the road, climb west up a steep loose chute about 50 feet to a wash heading west toward the peak. Hike up the wash to the 3,800 foot level, then climb up to the left until you get to an east-west ridge. Follow this ridge to the west to a saddle at 5,280', then head north-northwest to the summit.

You can take the sandy slope back down to the canyon for a faster return trip.

The hike is 2.75 miles one-way with 3,000 feet gain.

Essential Gear

No technical gear needed - just bring plenty of water.
