Approach

Hike over the Piute Pass Trail from North Lake to the Humphreys Basin.

Route Description

Climb the chute that leads to a big notch in the Southeast Ridge. Several hundred feet of steep class 4 climbing leads to the summit plateau area and Married Men's Point. Continue up the short 5.4 section to the summit.

The notch can be reached from the east via a loose class 3-4 gully.

Essential Gear

This route was first done as a solo climb in 1933 by Herve Voge, author of the old climbing guide to the High Sierra. I found it to be a wonderful climb, better than the East Arete. It is steep and intimidating, a rope could be useful. Descend the Northwest Face/Southwest Slope.

Miscellaneous Info

If you have information about this route that doesn't pertain to any of the other sections, please add it here.
