Route Description
This route is best used as a descent. The rock is at its angle of repose and is very loose and dangerous. Read my trip report concerning rockfall on the route.
Continue up the large talus boulders heading southeast, away from Hungry Lake and toward Moonlight Lake. From here head up the open canyon to Echo Lake. As you near the lake, cut to the right to cross over a flat plateau above the lake to avoid the cliffs at its inlet.
From there just head straight up the slopes to a saddle and continue along a more solid class 2 scramble to the right for the final few hundred feet to the summit.
The slope is a sandy matrix with lots of scree and medium size and large rocks sitting precariously in it. Use caution and ascend any sublt ridges or bumps in the slope - STAY OUT OF DEPRESSIONS!
Essential Gear
10 Essentials, helmet.
