Approach
Drive 6 miles west from Stove Pipe Wells in Death Vallet to the Lemoigne Canyon road. Follow this road for 5 miles to its end. This is a very rough 4x4 road w/ high clearance required. There can be large washouts along this road.
Route Description
This route is favored by many. Although longer, it is over more pleasant terrain than the ridge rising up from Panamint Valley.
The trip is about 18 miles round trip with 4300 ft of gain
Hike up Lemoigne canyon to the broad valley east of panamint butte. The peak is visibile to the west as the highest, roundest summit on the skyline. Head directly to the peak from here
