Approach
On the main highway, drive from Bern towards Interlaken. Around Spiez, turn south toward Kandersteg. Once in town, follow the signs to the local ski lift which will give you the best parking for most of the ice. Walk-ins are from 10-45 minutes - you may want to bring some short AT skis just in case.

A number of routes are within walking distance of the Hotel Rendez-vous which offers a hostel setup for climbers (bunch of mattresses on the floor) as well as regular rooms. Reserve by calling Elisabeth and Burkhard Prentler at 0041-33-675-1354.
