Approach

Ref Gianetti(2534 m):upper Val Porcellizzo. It's a valley part of the main Val Masino. This zone of mountain can be reached however from Valtellina(motorway SS38),from Milan(west) and from Sondrio(east).Leave the SS38 at the village of Ardenno, and follow the road SP404 for all the lenght till the location of "Bagni del Masino"(1172 m).This is a good place where park the car.So from there, take the directin to Ref. Gianetti.Easy walk(3/3.30 Hours).

Route Description

Watching from the hut the south side of Pizzo Badile,it's possible to recognize the shape of a ridge that share the west flank(your left) with a couloir(your right). That is where the route goes.So walk up the remain part of Val Porcellizzo till the begin of the ridge and, approach it by an evident ledge(from left to right) to the top of a shoulder, where a steel cross is situated. From this point, climb all the ridge towards the top of the mountain, where a piramyd indicate the main summit.(3-5 hours,2°/3° grade).Attention:The route doesn't follow a precise way,so choose the best in relation of the mountain condition. But never leave the ridge for the couloir(your right),because the difficulties and risks increase quickly!

Essential Gear

Quite easy rock climb on solid Granito.Helmet and rope.In case of Snow or ice, even axe and crampons.
