Approach

Just 10 minutes over a well marked path south from Drei-Zinnen-Hut.

Route Description

From Drei-Zinnen-hut follow the path south toward Paternkofel, then at the "Frankfurt Wuerstl" past, over a short comb with some stages to the entrance of a tunnel, some small which windows permits the view to the “Three Zinnen”. After this easy part an unlighted tunnel follows, bored from Alpini soldiers in the 1. WW to strengthen the positions around the Paternkofel. Through this dark and steep tunnel it goes with the help of a steel cable and the flashlight more over some stages up. At a wood barrier take a left turn to come out of the tunnel. Now it goes over fragile rocks, secured through wire rope, to the beginning of a small chimney. Through along the steel cable and some markings to the Gamsscharte. At the internal side of the Passportenkares to the beginning of a double ramp. Over the first 20 meters to the right, then nearly 25 meters to the left very suspended up. Over the now light field slope and a rocky stage to the summit.
