Approach


Brenner highway exit Stubaital. Continue to Neustift and Gasteig, park.

Route Description


Way up :

Walk on the marked path to Mischbachalm (1848 m).
From here, go left to the Mischbachgrube (combe) and to the crevassed Mischbachferner (glacier, 2800 m).
Climb up on the left side of the glacier to the "Schnabel" (= beak, 55° slope) or conturn on the right side (45° slope).
You arrive on the snowbank. On the right, climb the snow or ice face to the NW ridge. Continue on the ridge and you reach the summit easily in 2 minutes.

Way down :

Follow the NW ridge and climb down to a little collar (I -II). continue on the right side of the Mischbachferner (glacier)

By new snow, danger of avalanches.

In the last years, the route is often icy and the danger of rockfall is acute.
