Approach

Starting from the Morskie Oko shelter take a tourist trail to Rysy. When you reach Czarny Staw (Black Pond) - surround it, then turn left to narrow path, leaving tourist track, and direct stright to the bottom of the face of western pillar. Approach takes usually 1 hour from the shelter.

Route Description

Serious route demanding knowledge and abilities of climbing in a unprotected and rotten rock. First climbed by R. Stempisiewicz and M. Tertelis in 1990, is still unrepeated. One of a few new routes in Tatras with VII+ difficulties, climbed in a pure OS style. See details on a picture.

Essential Gear

A set of runners, friends and thin pittons required.
