Approach

This route route follows the same approach as the Northeast Ridge until you get near the base of the couloir. One essential of this route is time. You do not want anyone above you while in the couloir. The left branch in the couloir leads to the Northeast Ridge and rock fall down this branch can be fatal

Route Description

MANY PEOPLE IN COLORADO CONSIDER THIS THE MOST DANGEROUS ROUTE IN THE STATE!!!!!! NOT BECAUSE OF THE STEEPNESS BUT BECAUSE OF ROCKFALL!!!!!!!
At the base of the couloir leave the northeast Ridge route and enter the couloir Try to stay on the right side to avod rockfall and climb as fast as you possibly can. A quarter of the way up the couloir split. Take the right branch and keep moving quickly. There is a slight wind ripple 3/4 from the top. This is the steepest section with an angle topping out near 60 degrees. Once at the top scramble carefully up the west ridge roughly 100 vertical to the top. Descend the northeast ridge or ski it if you can.

Essential Gear

Helmet, Ice Axe, Crampons, Rope(optional) and Body Armor.

Miscellaneous Info
