Approach

This trail leaves the Cascade Path at the base of Snows Mountain 0.1 miles from the trailhead.

Route Description

This nice little side path takes you to the glacial landmark of Elephant Rock. Elephant Rock is a massive twenty foot high, by 25 foot long glacial cobble that is a remnant of the areas once very intense glacial activity. And yes, it does look like an elephant. It has an eye, a big ear, and a huge trunk, almost life sized.

This is a nice alternative to the Snows Mountain Trail and can be done as a loop hike between the two. It is only 0.3 miles in length and the loop makes a nice evening hike.

Essential Gear

Comfortable hiking boots, snacks/water, trekking poles, and a camera.
